Europe 2012: Trier, Germany

Trier was a wonderful place to visit. There is so much Roman history, including the oldest, still used, bridge in Germany. I thought it was fun just to walk across it! Here are a few pictures from that trip. :)
Porta Nigra, one of four gates used in Roman times. This one is the only one still standing.

We also visited the Cathedral of St. Peter and the Church of Our Lady.

Römerbrücke, or the oldest bridge in Germany. The pillars are as old as the 2nd century!

Palace of Trier

Constantine's Basilica. I love the fisheye lens.

Europe 2012: Rüdesheim am Rhein

Our trip to Rüdesheim was so fun! It is a little wine town situated along the Rhine. We rode the seilbahn (gondola lift) and went for a little hike that was pretty much the most scenic hike I've ever been on. Scott also had his first Döner Kebap. Those things are so tasty! Here are the pictures in no particular order:

Rüdesheim

Scott and I at one of the lookout points along the trail.

The Neiderwald Monument was actually undergoing some touch-ups
so it was covered  by scaffolding and a  picture of the statue right over the top.

A funny tree if you ask me.

Rossel Castle
The "Enchanted/Wizard's Cave"

The Niederwald Temple, used as a lookout in the late 1700s.

Scott on the seilbahn. Behind him are lots and lots of vineyards.
Self-explanatory. Yummy yummy!

Europe 2012: Wiesbaden

Woohoo! I love Europe and my parents live there so I had to go again. This time I took Scott with me and showed him what it was like to be an American living in Deutschland. Lol. We had so much fun traveling and seeing new things! I still can't get over how amazing it is out there. Sigh... Anyway, I'm going to post photos of places we went to see but I'll probably do a separate post for each because there are soooo many pictures! Here are a few pictures of the lovely Wiesbaden:

A nice view of the Marktkirche.

Scott and I in the Marktplatz.

A view of one of the many villages from the walking paths in the fields.

Me in front of the Kurhaus.

Mainz on the other side of the Rhine River.

I'm Still Alive!

Here I go again with the updates. Sheesh!

December
This month I got to to see one of my best friends, Annalee, since her aunt and uncle were coming up for a visit and she just couldn't sit at home. She's awesome and I love her.

I also got to see another awesome friend of mine! Alisa!!! I am happy to be back in the USA because of them. :)
Then came Christmas. I spent my first Christmas away from my family, and instead was there to experience Christmas with Scott's family. Scott decided we needed a D-SLR camera for Christmas so we now have a Canon 7D and absolutely love it!
January
I spent the turning of the new year down in St. George with a bunch of friends. It was pretty fun! We stayed in a nice big house and just hung out, ate food, and did some hiking. Scott and I played with the new camera and enjoyed the beautiful scenery that St. George has to offer. I love the red rock that is everywhere there!
Later that month we went to see Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and I LOVED it! I need to visit Dubai sometime, don't you think?
February
Look what Scott got me for Valentine's Day!!! Awww!
March
In March I took a random trip down to see Scott in Grand Junction, CO. He was there because  of a class he needed to take for work so we would hang out after it was over. Tehe!

Updates for October and November

Apparently I am not the best blogger because I have once again neglected to post for a long time. It's definitely time for some UPDATES! Especially since I moved back to the good ol' USA and I'm living it up with some of my best friends!

A few days before I left Europe I went to a soccer/football game with
the YSA. It was definitely fun. :D
Team Wiesbaden scarf for just 2 euros!
I flew out of Frankfurt on the 25th.
My amazing best friend and her husband
with their baby who is just the cutest ever.
They picked me up at the airport.
Bow hunting with Scott!
For my birthday, Scott took me out for sushi. Nom Nom Nom!
What Scott and I were for Halloween!
Just for fun, Scott and I drove down to Salt Lake one day and discovered that Jon Schmidt would be doing a live performance at the lighting of the tree at The Gateway mall. That was a wonderful experience. I love Jon Schmidt's music! Later in the month I spent Thanksgiving with Scott's family. SO MUCH FOOOOD!!

Photography Trial Expedition: Bana's Senior Photos

My dream is to break into photography really soon. This weekend I got to borrow a Canon EOS 7D and I went crazy with it! My dad requested I do my sister's senior photos, so I decided why not? Here are a few of the best shots. My sister is just beautiful inside and out! I love her.

I'm back!!!

Ha! I've neglected my blog for quite some time now, but I think I am back for good. Yay for me! Anyway, updates on my life:
1. Being an EFY (Especially for Youth) counselor in July was the best-ever experience of my entire life!!! I got to meet LDS youth from about 25 different countries and experience a very cultural gathering of the saints in Blaubeuren, Germany. I was blessed to be the counselor of seven amazing girls during that week and I was very impressed by each one of them. My testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ has grown so much because of them and the opportunity I had to serve. I also had the best co-counselor (Kevin) to work with! <3

2. I attended a summer program with Heidelberg University that helped me learn better German and understand their culture. The classes were all in German. It was so fun!! I met some great people from all over the world and made a wonderful friend from Moscow.

3. Spacetagung, a YSA convention in Darmstadt held the 1st-4th of September, 2011. What made that week amazing? My best friend in Germany and my previous EFY co-counselor, Kevin. Pretty much we spent the weekend together and had fun being random.

Some more random updates:

I visited Schwetzingen gardens during a car show. Best combination ever! I love old cars.

Marienburg Fortress, Würzburg

I went to the Bundesgartenschau in Koblenz :) I don't know whose shiny head that is.
